Intercontinental Hotels Group have announced the opening of a brand-new high-end hotel, the Hangzhou Liangzhu Intercontinental Hotel, located in Zhejiang, China.
As a brand focused on five-star hotel lighting, Aero Light was honored to provide the overall lighting solution for Hangzhou Liangzhu Intercontinental Hotel, including guest rooms and public areas, which has made a significant contribution to the Intercontinental Liangzhu tour in Hangzhou.
With rich humanistic and cultural deposits as the space, and modern aesthetic interpretation, the hotel has been injected with a daydream of international style. The hotel design is a tribute to the history of Liangzhu culture, combining the time and space of this historical civilization with modern additions such as its own Ferris wheel.
Explore the source of Liangzhu civilization
The interior is designed by HBA in Singapore and the lighting was produced by Relux Lighting Engineering (Shanghai) Co., LTD. The hotel pays tribute to history with ingenuity, and the Liangzhu culture flows throughout the modern space. From luxurious rooms and suites, to various restaurants with delicious food, to the leisure and fitness areas, guests can feel the immersive experience of travelling throughout the history of a thousand years of time.
Upon entering the hotel, guests are greeted by a luxurious waterfall with a depth of 50 meters and a height of nearly 9 meters. The waterfall is composed of 729 crystals with a length of 6 meters, a total length of 6 kilometers and a total area of 21 6 cubic meters. The designer used Liangzhu jade Cong as the prototype to explore the source of Liangzhu civilization and create the modern interpretation of the ancient civilization.
Aero Light carefully considered the lighting design, and in order not to interfere with the atmosphere of the main crystal lamp, decorated the area with Aero Classic AMEZ series skylights set to the basic lighting function. This allows people to see the light, but not the lamp. The hidden AKIN series light strips highlight the outline of the hotel lobby, which is full of light and shadow, setting the atmosphere.

The guest rooms are full of prosperity and tranquility
The hotel has a total of 336 elegant rooms and 22 luxury suites, complete with sophisticated facilities and smart systems. Rooms are distributed around the landscape and benefit from panoramic views of Liangzhu. Guests can enjoy extraordinary comfort in prosperity and tranquility. With the curtains open in the room, the view and the atmosphere are just right.
The color collocation of the hotel rooms echoes the natural colors throughout the hotel. Aero AKIN series light strips outline and decorate the ceiling, while the key lighting areas are illuminated by Aero AXE deep anti-glare series.
A variety of restaurants and bars
The lobby lounge and bar, all-day restaurant, and outdoor area are fully connected. At night, they become a space for Liangzhu special cocktails, and the design represents the essence of Liangzhu culture. Echoing the capital and center of ancient Liangzhu, Mojiao Mountain, the area is like a "door of time and space" connecting the past and the future. Guests can have a drink with friends and family or mingle with business associates.
The lobby features floor-to-ceiling glass so that light, shadow, rain and other natural elements outside the window can be observed by guests from a comfortable vantage point. In the retro and elegant seating, the soft and warm lighting overhead creates an integrated sensory experience.
Ritual elements interweave the meeting space
As a high-end hotel focusing on business, the hotel has 2,968 square meters of meeting space, including 12 conference rooms, a grand ballroom and 11 multi-function rooms. The images of Liangzhu Culture's "Jade Age" and "Bronze Age" shine brightly in the hotel's large conference space. The high-end ritual elements such as jade and porcelain are interwoven in the modern design, demonstrating the change of human civilization history.
From the hotels prime location, guests can easily visit Liangzhu Cultural Scenic Spot, Liangzhu Ancient City Ruins, Xixi National Wetland Park, Jingshan Wanshou Zen Temple Scenic Spot and Hangzhou Banshan National Forest Park, to explore the city's past and present, adding to the colorful Hangzhou tour for business tourists.
The Grand ballroom
Aristotle said that people come to cities to survive, yet they stay in cities to make their lives better. The arrival of Hangzhou Liangzhu intercontinental hotel is like a banner standing in the bustling Yuhang District, leading the cultural trend of the new city in a unique way.
Aero Light is honored to have worked with Intercontinental Hotels Management Group to strengthen the prosperity and development of the city.
